Update for ATE AST sensor tester

10/05/2011

ATE has extended the testing functions of the ATE AST sensor tester. The third software generation for the handheld tester is now available. In addition to the wide range of functions of the first two software generations, this version also allows testing and analysis of the latest wheel speed sensors which are installed in current vehicle models. It is also able to determine wheel rotation directions. Through a special function, automotive specialists can now also test a wide range of engine and chassis sensors with the ATE AST. Furthermore, the tried-and-tested intuitive user guidance system has been further improved and adapted to the new functionality.

The software of the device can be updated easily thanks to its flash technology and PC interface. Accordingly, users of the first and second generation of the ATE AST sensor tester can also benefit from the new functionality. Updating of the device software costs 49 euros (plus VAT) and is carried out directly by ATE. The sensor tester must be sent to the following address for the update:

Continental Aftermarket GmbH
Abteilung APPM (Hr. Breitmeyer)
Guerickestr. 7
60488 Frankfurt

The ATE AST sensor tester allows the specialist to quickly and reliably test and analyse a very wide range of sensors. It can check error messages from self-diagnosis functions for plausibility and specify their meaning. The ATE AST sensor tester is thus a useful and essential addition to the usual diagnostic equipment.

Further information about the tools can be found in the ATE online tool catalogue at www.ate-info.de or from your specialist ATE dealer.
