No chance for dangerous fakes

In future, it is possible to identify ATE branded products for the aftermarket sector from the international automotive supplier Continental as genuine ATE spare parts for the repair and servicing of vehicles with 100% certainty. The company is introducing dual-stage protection for all at-risk ATE products in the form of the tesa Holospot® and MAPP Code security features.

Low quality fakes increase the risk of an accident!

Seemingly insignificant actions can have devastating consequences: if, for example, a workshop installs a low-quality fake product - in the belief that they are actually using a genuine brake pad from ATE - the risk of an accident increases sharply. This is because poor quality can result in total failure - especially in the case of safety-relevant components. A dual-stage security concept for product identification with 100% certainty has now been introduced to enable workshops and dealers to make sure that they are using and providing customers with genuine ATE spare parts. Whereas the MAPP Code, the new aftermarket industry standard for spare parts on the open market, provides each separate part with a unique and individual identification number, tesa Holospot® security technology protects this code against copying and imitation.

What does this mean for ATE customers?

An important feature of the new security concept is that it does not cause any additional costs for customers of ATE. The new security features will help to avoid the dangers which can result from the use of low-quality copies instead of high-quality genuine ATE spare parts. It will also make it possible to significantly minimize the considerable economic losses caused by product pirates and manufacturers of fake products.

With this concept, ATE is putting a stop to low-quality fakes in which no development work has been invested and which generally have not completed the required testing and approval procedures for the benefit of its end customers - through the combined use of the tesa Holospot® and MAPP Code.

Manufacturers against Product Piracy

Automotive suppliers support initiative against product piracy

With a joint communication campaign as part of the initiative “Manufacturers against Product Piracy” (MAPP), renowned automobile suppliers carry the fight to product counterfeiters. Product piracy damages the brand’s image, leads to sales losses and endangers the end customer. With the slogan “Similar is not the same,” traders, garages, customs and end customers will be made aware so that they do not fall for counterfeit automotive replacement parts.
